Jenna.
Ah it was her puppy-hood all over again. The warm Summer days with the sun beating down on her silken coal and ivory coat watching the little human pups running gaily across the lush grass of the play park while she and some other of her canine companions frolicked and danced in the glory of such a perfect time away from the tall buildings of the city. To her, this was a place that held much joy for her in the past but now it was reduced to a sunken mess of abandoned rubber and metal just like much of the city elsewhere. The little collie sighed while lost in memory, looking over at the rusting seesaw that creaked just a little in the breeze. Ahh… So refreshing! She though to herself, closing her eyes and inhaling the little fresh air that was here before padding swiftly towards the swings. It felt so lonely here… Where was everyone? She could smell them but they weren’t here anymore. As painful as it was, she had to accept that they weren’t coming back to the way it was before.
She hung her head to sample the scent marked on one of the swing posts before snapping it up again, ears erect as she scanned for the scent that had just blown her way. It was another one! Another dog like here but not quite like her in a sense that he had more testosterone than she would ever have in her life meaning he was indeed male and somehow he smelled just a little bit more heated than she, even in the season that it was. Not just longhaired breeds suffered in the heat. With her light, thin coat she was highly prone to sunburn especially around her nose and in between her toes surprisingly. Still, panting or not she curiously followed the trail of the male in the park under the safety cover of the overgrown bushes that surrounded some of the area. She couldn’t quite see him in the distance but she was sure he wasn’t a small dog.
Oh Jenna! Never really thinking things through! A nagging little voice in the back of her mind warned her. Not all dogs want to play! But even so, why was he in the park at this time if he was not here to play? Thinking about it made her feathered tail wag in excitement. It had been so long since she had a partner! She needed to let out some of her energy anyway and this would be an opportune moment. By chance a bright neon orange color caught her eye and her heart leapt at the sight of it. TURBO FRISBEE. She scrambled over branches until she had the old, now slightly discolored at one side [due to the bit that was exposed to the sun] and clamped in in her jaws. Once it was secure she trotted confidently out of the bushes before bounding some towards the other end of the park, in full view of the other canine. It was playtime!

Two deep brown pools scanned the park before him before taking any steps further. He blinked, lowering his hackles and admiring everything which was before him. It was beautiful, that was for sure, though the fact that it was abandoned created somewhat of an eery feeling. The swings swung back and forth in the shallow breeze, squeaking every few moments. The sand and dirt was kicked up creating a tornado of dust. The blades of grass fluttered in the wind, each reaching in the same direction until the breeze settled down. The sun was high above in the light blue sky, shimmering down on everything and everyone in its presence. Few trees were in the park to provide shelter from the strong rays. The rays beat down hard onto the earth below, and were quickly absorbed by the Samoyed seated in front of the park. His banner wished back and forth on the warmed concrete, his two optics scanning everything before him wondering where he should wander off to first. He inhaled a deep breath and allowed a deep sigh to emit from his vocals. He then turned his eyes upwards and watched as a few cumulus clouds floated by peacefully while avoiding the sun. In a way the brute wished they would hide the star for a brief moment so he could have a chance to cool down. Oh why did summer always have to be so hot? He was one who enjoyed winter more, since his white coat blended in well with the snow while still keeping him warm from the bitter frosts.
Slowly Fringe rose from his seated position and started his trot forwards. Slate nails clicked against the asphault with every step he took. His eyes remained forwards locked on his first target: the playground. There were no humans present, and from a first glance there were no other canines either. He made his way to the front gate of the playground, bending his limbs and quickly pouncing upwards and leaping over the small chain link fence. It was used to hold small toddlers in, but could never keep such a male out. He landed with a small thud, some wood chips being kicked out of place as his snowy paws made contact with the ground. His orbs shifted from their cast downwards to all around him, seeing the play equipment, the swings, the monkey bars, everything that was once used but now left abandoned. It was only going to be a matter of time before all humans were gone from the city. After a moment Fringe started forwards once more, keeping his eyes pealed for the sight of another and his ears pricked for the sound of others. Every step he took caused a crunching noise of the wood chips below his pads. Then he paused. By the swings he caught the scent of another. A female if he was correct who had passed through not long ago. He dipped his cranium lower, inhaling the scent trying to locate where they had gone off to.
Perhaps it was just his imagination, but he felt like another was present. Curious, Fringe made his way over to a patch of brush which may lead to the one he had caught scent of. The long bushes parted as he made his way forward. Eventually he found a clearing, but the canine was no where to be seen. His auds cocked back plastering across his head, a low whimper escaping his throat. He sighed once more preparing to be on his way. He did not need company, and most of the time liked to be on his own. But he heard another coming closer, and turned around just in time to see a female emerge from the brush, banner wagging from side to side and a disk present between her jaws. She did not speak to him, but the fact that she had a disk in her jaws might have made it somewhat difficult to do. "Well hello there," he noted casually, dipping his snowy head towards the new arrival. His tail swished rhythmically back and forth, a weak smile being plastered across his face. Then he eyed the neon disk in her maw once more. "Have you come in search of a playmate?" he asked, cocking his dial to the side and switching his gaze off the Frisbee and into her deep brown pools. He was excellent when it came to obeying commands, and if this female wanted to play, then this was what she was going to get. But he waited for her to speak first, wondering if it would be a request or a demand. Then again, either way he would follow it.
