::Don't leave me:: Tiny paws carried her tiny figure over the grass and onto the pavement that many have walked on before...or so it seemed. There was a building up ahead...and well she was not that young to not know what it was used for. Sure she was only what? A matter of weeks old? But she was old enough to no that she came into this world to be alone. & alone she would stay. She, herself, and her own was her only friends. As yes...there was others. Others who she had meant in her long trip to this city, others who had mothers and homes to be welcomed too. But she never did. Being a street pup ever since the day her mother killed her brother. There was no going back to change the past, but there was to plan the future. She was tiny....actually. Tiny for the beautiful female she would grow into one day. Her fine breed was very elegant...and so you could see on the walking 9 week old pup. Her black pelt was patterned with honey touched spots...like her mitts, underbelly, and snout area. She was cute...hard to believe anyone could actually threaten to kill her. But there where many out there...and this was the reason why she was injured this very moment. It was not like she ran into someone. Or asked to be eaten. But she simply wanted to make friends...friends that turned into a big disaster and pain for the young little female pup.
Little sniffles where given as she gently and slowly made her way up the small steps of the school...as each step she took left a small bloody paw print on the pavement. Trailing back all the way to the long road that lead you up here. A tiny lip was given to her walk as she walked further into the school looking around. Tiny amber eyes held little beads of tears around them, as tear stains came down her beautiful eyes. She lowered her head as she limped deeper into the building, the metallic scent of blood strongly presented in Danu's step. Making it into a class room she stopped and sat down at the beginning of the door...being the only little bundled shadow in the long hall. A tinny sniffle came from her nostrils, as she cried silently to herself. Curling up ignoring her hind bloody leg...somthing she didn't no how to take care of...mother never staying long enough to teach her...to show her how. The soft rising and falling of her side deepened as she lifted her head to a illusion of her mother coming to her like she did when she was back in the den with Second...no fangs...no words being spat on her. Turning her little head away she sighed softly to herself a crystal tear falling down the path that many others did as she laid her head down on her small paw. I promise to be good this time...just come back...please... she whispered as she closed her eyes two more tears sliding down her black cheeks as she fell into a tired heavy sleep.

This school had once been so full of life. Now here it stood with only the wind to accompany it. The sun shone high in the sky above spreading its rays across the city. It was fall and the trees had finally lost their leaves in preparation for the upcoming winter. Some might ponder over why the trees would chose to drop their leaves in fall when you would think they would need them to protect themselves from the cold. When they were naked wouldn't this cause them to die instead of survive? Most strays went their entire lives pondering why this occurred, but Fringe already knew the answer to such a question. His IQ was high higher than the average even if others did not see this. He was more reserved keeping this knowledge to himself. Deep chocolate orbs scanned the school yard looking over the brick building with curiosity. It had been empty for years and this was shown in its exterior. Cracked windows, boarded up doors and graffiti across the walls were all clear indications that this building was no longer used. Of course the strays of the city still used its grounds to their own advantage. This school had yet to be claimed by a pack though Fringe knew that it would not stay that way for long. He had not come in hopes of taking it for Harku since he did not feel the need to do so, but maybe another member of his pack would take it so he would not have to. Either way he wanted to explore and learn more about the history of the building. The front door might have been boarded shut, but that was not going to stop him from making his way inside. He was a smart canine, and he was confident he would find a way in.
Making his way around the perimeter Fringe eyed a few side doors and cracked windows which others may have used as an entrance before him. Leading to a door was a small flight of stairs, and along these stairs was a trail of fresh blood. Fringe cocked his dial to the side as he trotted over to the fresh trail, lowering his cranium to inhale its bitter scent. He placed his white paw on one of the droplets to feel its warmth absorb into his pad. It could not have been made long ago and whoever it was who was bleeding could not have gotten far. The door was left ajar with some kind of brick being in place to keep it from shutting completely. Perhaps a canine was smart enough to place it there, or a human was just too lazy to remove it. Either way it was about to serve as Fringe's way inside of the school. He was not much of a social dog but for whatever reason he wanted to make sure that the canine who was injured was alright. The tracks looked small almost as if they had been cast by a puppy. It was not hard to believe since it was fall and whelping was still occurring. Either that or the pup could have been born in summer. So many possibilities flooded Fringe's thoughts and soon his curiosity was fully sparked to learn what the true answer was. He climbed the flight of stairs and pawed the open door wider so he could climb inside. Once in the main hall he heard the door attempt to shut behind him but was unable to close completely with the brick in the way. He debated whether or not to kick it out of the way, but then decided there was nothing to be gained by keeping others out. So he turned his brown orbs back into the school halls.
It was like a ghost town with nothing in movement and everything silent. Papers were plastered across the walls, some advertising school events while others were from student projects. Some books were scattered here and there on the blue and white tiles though there was nothing of pure significance. After looking for a few seconds Fringe's globes caught sight of the trail of blood leading to one of the classrooms not too far off. He followed the trail silently not allowing any of his foot prints to be audible. When turning into the classroom Fringe instantly caught sight of the tiny female puppy only feet from the door. She was curled up in a ball fast asleep with blood still oozing from a wound in her hind leg. Fringe paced the short distance over to her sniffing her corpse to see if she was alive. He could hear her breathing so he knew she must still have some life within her. Salty tears were dried up on her cheeks like she had been sobbing prior to Fringe's arrival. He had never been a dad before and thus was unsure of what to do with the female. Surely he could not just leave her there to slowly bleed to death. Besides she only looked a few weeks old at most and probably needed someone to care for her. He knew he would feel regretful if he left her there, so instead he nuzzled her neck with his cold damp nose in attempts to wake her up. "Wake up little one..." he coed to her softly with a tender tone to his lyrics. He did not want to startle her so he was extremely careful to remain gentle. He pulled away a few inches and looked at her closed eyes waiting for them to open.

::Don't leave me:: The gentle rising and falling over her side let you know that she was breathing...as she was as still as a rock in the same spot that she had laid down in. No notice was taken as Fringe walked into the school...or into the classroom in where she rested. Just as easily as it was Fringe...it could have been a hungry canine...or another just out to hunt her down once more. With the gentle nudge that Fringe gave her she fluttered her eyes open blinking sleep from her eyes as she rose her head quickly. Momma? She whispered as she looked around to see what had touched her so gently on the neck. Hope sparkled in her happy little eyes, even though they strike with pain. She rose her tiny, injured bodice up quickly lowering her head submissively as she saw the white male in front of her. Swallowing the sense of fear in her throat she pressed her body as far back against the wall as it would go...not daring to make eye contact with him she shivered lightly. H-Hello sir...I-I'm really sorry i didn't no this was your land-I-I promise I wont intrude on your land again...I-I am sorry. She whispered in a scared shaky tone.
Her tiny crown so low that her nose was almost touching the ground. All the hope that once sparkled in her little eyes died out...leaving behind hurt and fear. Fear that he like the other dog would hurt her, for being here. Once more not checking if anyone was around. I mean what do you expect? She shivered again as the jolting pain that shot up her injured leg made her lightly fall to the ground. By the size of her bodice...the sound wasn't really loud only a small thud, but it was enough to show you that she has been alone for a while. From the hunger she had suffered you could already begin to see the fragile bone structure that made up her young pup bodice. One look at her made you ask yourself...who would ever leave such a young beautiful pup like this? & this answer would come. Her. At the pace that Danu was going...it was already for seen that there would be a meer chance on her surviving the winter. & less with a wound as big as that on her leg.
There was many things to learn before you go out into this world. Such as...hunting and defending yourself. But when your this small? Those are the last thing you dare to think about! This world all being fun and games...and always an adventure. Even when alone she would spend hours just playing spy on her own. Talking to her imaginary friend, Philis. Or singing the day away. But ever since she was attacked...she never did those things anymore. To tired and to much in pain to even think about playing spy. Occasionally, Philis would come around to keep her company when she was lonely...but that was only on the days where the pain was so great that it numbed away for a couple of minutes. Danu was young, and had much of this world to see. But that was only if she made it. From now her chances where thin, already suffering malnutrition and gashes in the heart that will most likely never heal...but there might be a slight chance she would make it...and it all laid in the snowy paws of this male right there in front of her.

It was not long before the flutter of an eyelid allowed Fringe to know the female was indeed alive. Sleep was still present in her orbs and her first spoken word was one which struck him in a strange way. He was certainly not her mother for two reasons. First he looked nothing like her with his snow white pelt and hers being brown and black. Second he was a male and thus could never be her mother. Her father perhaps if his genes were actually that weak but not her mother. He did not respond to her lyric waiting for her to learn for herself that he was not her parent. She slowly rose from the ground almost trembling when supporting herself with her injured limb. When she looked around the room her eyes were almost sparking with hope imagining the one who had woken her up was her mother. Sadly, it was not. Instantly when she registered it was a strange male who had awoken her from her slumber she swallowed the knot within her throat and started a pace backwards until her back was against the wall. The entire time she moved backwards her injured limb was leaking out blood, more with each step she took. Fringe felt bad for the tiny creature wishing there was some way he could help her. She was so young and frightened of the world around her and it was almost as if there was nothing he could do to help. But the least he could do was try. He did not speak as she made her way backwards only eying her limping movements and the frightened glint in her eyes. It was only a shame she was so timid, for if she was bolder he was sure she had quite the story to tell.
When the tiny pup spoke her words were barely audible, spoken in a whispered tone which was almost impossible for Fringe to hear as the distance between them grew larger. She thought she was trespassing on his land which was not the case. First off she had come first so if this was anyone's land for the taking it would belong to her. She was not intruding and therefore had no reason for her multiple apologies. Her nose almost kissed the ground and her legs trembled in the presence of the larger male. He had no intentions on hurting her, for why should he? She was defenseless and at only about nine or ten weeks old she was struggling to survive on her own. It was just a miracle she had made it this far. Her injured leg was unable to support her weight and soon she fell to the cold tiled ground below with the softest thud. Her light weight caused the noise to be quiet, though still present. Her ribs were sticking out of her skin showing clearly she was in desperate need for a proper meal. Her leg was clearly in pain and seeing as Fringe was in font of her this did not help ease the tension. He had only spoken four words and they were enough to scare the female to the point that she was ready to flee at any given time. Before making even the slightest movement Fringe thought over what would be the best thing to do. He never jumped right into a situation but rather thought the process through calculating every last detail. He wanted his choice of words not to scare the female but to help ease her pain, both physically and emotionally. He had already scared her enough for one day, after all.
"I have no intention on hurting you little one, and this is not my land. It is free for all to enjoy, including yourself." Fringe's optics showed only sincerity to the female while speaking keeping the distance between them great and not moving his body and closer to hers. She could come closer to he if she felt more comfortable, but if he made it any closer to the pup she would probably bolt instantly. This was Fringe's first interaction with a puppy, and he did not expect them to be so skitish and timid. But there was always a first time for everything. He kept his stance showing no dominance whatsoever as he dipped his head to show the young pup his respect towards her. She deserved it after all, living on her own at only a few weeks old. When he was her age he could never have done such a thing. "You have no reason to be sorry. If anyone owes an apology it is myself for both waking you and startling you." He nodded his head lower as a silent apology before verbally adding to it. "And for that I give you my sincerest apologies." He was unsure of how she was going to handle what he had just told her. Kind words could not mend all the damage done, but it could help numb the pain and he could work his way from there. He wanted to make his way over to her and help clean her wounds and find her a meal, but he knew that if he was to gain her trust it would have to be she who came to him, not the other way around. If she needed his help, she knew where to get it.

Perhaps it was exhaustion that held her down...or pain of running away. But either way...she was done in hiding in the shadows, trying just to get past to look for a better place. Her head hurt, her tummy ached of hunger. What else was there to get by? In her mind she kept telling herself things where fine, but on the real outside world things got worse. She blinked to steady the ground again before she looked up into the snowy white males face. Something about him relaxed her...the way things relaxed when mother was around...or back in those warm days when Second snuggled up against her. There where times where in her mind...Philis was Second...except Danu herself giving him a proper name instead of Second. Second was always the shy one between him and herself. Being the main reason why he was called Second instead of anything else. Always being the little one who walked behind his sister like a shadow...or more...a best friend. Until the day of his death, Danu and Second where inseparable. Wherever Second went, Danu was. Where Danu went, Second was there. His death not being an accident...but only a murder that was seen by two little eyes.
Those two little eyes looked up to the face of the male as she listened to the words that he spoke. She cocked her head to one side, for the first time in many days the word Friend? screamed in her tiny thinker. But she knew better then to anger him...or say something that he would not like. So on the bright side...she kept her mug shut. She listened on to the talk he gave her. Understanding some of it...but not completely. But she was now sure enough that he would not hurt her. Would he? Well he said he wouldn't so it was alright. She flickered her fol den over ears toward him as she lifted herself cautiously limping over to him at a slow but normal pace- for an injured one of course. She stopped only to eye him for a while before dragging herself closer to him and coming to sit directly in front of him. She gazed up...in the way a person looked up to see the top of the building when sitting at the bottom.
Beautiful eyes blinking up into his as she sniffed him from afar. Friend? She asked in a tiny almost under sure tone. As she very carefully leaned her small head forward to take a sniff at his pure white fur. It was then, when Danu's little yellow dipped tail began to wag softly. Big round eyes blinking up at him again. She sneezed and shook her head before sniffling and smiling a heart melting cute smile. Its ok...I forgive you. My name is Danu, she whispered to him in a very soft tone. Almost afraid if she spoke to loud he would vanish before her eyes. You could tell she was a perfectly good at being a pup. Even with a bleeding wound, and a broken heart...she was cheerful, and playful. She got up and limped closer to him, walking under him and snuggling against his under belly she curled her small bodice up into a tiny ball. She rested her head lightly on his paw as she sighed with content that someone was finally here that would not hurt her. Not realizing that what she really just did was uncommon and almost never accepted. But she was lonely...very lonely this action telling you very clearly. & its known that pups should never be lonely...always having a companion or someone else to play with. But out of nobody or nothing it was somthing...and she just happy with him there...even if she did bleed or hurt...or was hungry, he was here and made everything just numb away a little.

Something Fringe spoke of caused the female to cock her dial to the side and give him a puzzled look. She had yet to speak as her young mind started to wander. Fringe allowed her the time she needed to process the information she had just taken in. She was probably confused about someone being so kind to her when at first she had thought it was she who had invaded on his land. But this territory was free for anyone to walk including these two canines. Her maw remained, not speaking a word to the male in front of her. Perhaps it was because she felt there was nothing worthy of saying, or maybe it was because she did not want him to hurt her. Fringe was not the kind of canine to randomly attack another without a reason to do so. Then silently and without a word she got back onto her feet and started a slow limp towards the snowy white male on the other side of the room. Her steps were awkward because of her injured leg but she was traveling at a good pace for being injured. Fringe did not make a sound but only allowed a smile to cross his lips. He was happy to know she was starting to trust him somewhat more. It would take time before her injured soul could ever completely trust another, that much was for sure. But at least some progress was being made and that was worth being happy over. He hoped his gentle methods would help the female learn to trust another, though one false move and he could be sent back to the start. He would have to be careful to plan out every movement until a foundation was layed out.
After making it across the long distance from the wall to where Fringe was seated the tiny female lowered her own hackles to the cold ground and look up into his deep brown pools. Directly underneath him she looked even smaller and her eyes showed her history. She lost something very close to her, though who it was and what the exact reason behind it was unknown. Fringe could see this with just a glance into her pupils. Not the smaller details but he could see the basic picture. He instantly felt bad for her but waited for her to speak first instead of adding any more of his words into the silent air. She spoke a single word which was so quiet it was soon carried off into the wind never to be registered. Fringe heard it however and only allowed his small smile to grow stronger. He watched her bring her cranium closer to his pelt and inhale his scent. He noticed her tail start to swish back and forth slowly and a quiet sneeze to pass her lips. "Bless you," he whispered to her quietly not wanting to startle her with his lyrics. He kept his tone gentle which for him was not difficult to do. Her eyes met his and those two puppy dog eyes were enough to melt the heart of anyone. She forgave him for waking her which was a relief for him. Not the fact that he felt she was going to punish him for doing so but to know she was starting to learn how to forgive. Small steps, that is all he was asking for. Then she told him her name, two syllables which matched her figure perfectly: Danu. He was quick to register it and watch her for another moment before speaking.
Danu's next motions was a surprise for Fringe. She limped closer to him until there was almost no room which lingered between them. Then she curled her small figure into a ball and allowed her head to rest on his snow dipped paw. He smiled down at her even if she could not see it. She was hurt and needed someone to help her heal and get her back on her feet. A puppy could not survive on their own at only a few weeks old and he needed to find the one who had been caring for her prior to her arrival here. He slowly lowered his cranium towards her head allowing his tongue to run across the fluff of her head. Her body was giving off little heat and he nuzzled her to help her body regain its warmth. "You may call me Fringe." he told her quietly again in a whispered tone. His eyes made their way to the injury on her leg and the trickle of blood which still oozed from within it. "Hold still a moment, this might hurt but you need to get that leg cleaned properly." He told her exactly what to expect since he did not want her to be startled by a sudden jolt of pain. He allowed a few seconds to pass before running his tongue along her limb to clean off the blood which still dripped from it. It may have stung but if she did not have it cleaned properly then it would become infected and an even larger problem would occur. The liquid tasted bitter and metallic on his taste buds almost like it did not belong there. But after a few moments he was able to clean off her limb and stop the bleeding from getting any worse. He rose his dial into the air once more and looked down at her with compassion. "There you go."

She closed her tired eyes as his tongue rasped her head. A little sigh coming from her figure as she laid on her none injured side content in having another groom her fur, or simply making her feel like she really was alive...and no invisible. She relaxed and opened her eyes when he nudged her, but only to her her warmer as she closed her eyes again with laziness. When he spoke she flickered her folded auds toward him and picked up her head. She nodded very faintly as she twitched when his tongue made contact with the gash...but remained still. Unlike any other pup who would have cried or squirmed...you could tell that she really needed help...and was willing to go through the pain only to heal it and make it better. Danu also being very mature for her age. She flickered her ears when he spoke once more...realizing that the worst was now over as she curled herself once more and looked up at him with tired little eyes. She smiled even then. Thank you, Mr. Fringe she barked at him before getting up and shaking her tinsy bodice. She limped around happily before once more coming back to Fringes warm coat, snuggling up to his side. She smashed her head against his side then came her body...just like a cat would do when its owner arrives. Flakes of his white fur falling over her skinny figure as she giggled and breathed it away from her face with her black wet nose.
You are very warm, Mr. Fringe, she barked to him with a little giggle again limping back to sit in front of him once more. She looked up to him now...even though it had only been only a matter of minutes which she had meant him...she already thought of him as her hero. & well...there was nobody really in this world that was willing to change that. Since nobody cared...and all walked past her without a flaw. She wagged her tail again at him smiling. Before her tail stopped wagging and a deep sadness came into her bright eyes. Mr. Fringe....you wont leave me right? She whispered in the most heart breaking tone that anybody could ever hear. She kept her little head at level to have her eyes looking up at his. Afraid to get to attacted...only to have just another who will disappear and be another memory in her mind.
You could tell that she had seen alot...and felt to much for her own good. Her mind ruined by the words prospects...and damaged by her surroundings. But even then she was happy and fine with it all! Unlike another who would have just gave it all up...Danu did not curl up in a dark corner and wait for her death. She tried to live...and now there was hope. In her mind ran thoughts of her mother leaving...that female she meant along the way...her brother...and many others. Looking at him...as he too will be another? She sniffled as tears filled her round big eyes. Mister...dont leave me...please? she begged searching his eyes for a sign...for something to tell her that he would stay. But she saw nothing as she dashed over to him, rubbing her tiny teary face against his legs to wipe the tears away. She remembered well what her mother told her once as she shoved Danu away from her...Cry wont do a fuck in the real world, suck it up....just makes you look weak. Danu stopped crying as she held it in and sat gloomily at Fringes paws waiting for an answer.

The tiny pup only nodded her head before Fringe began to groom the injury on her leg. She did not make a sound as he ran his tongue across her limb and behaved better than he thought she would. He knew she must have been going through some pain each time his tongue made contact with her fur. Once he was done she looked up at him with two tired orbs and a smile. She thanked him giving him the name of "Mr.Fringe". Her choice of words could not help but put a smile on his face. He nodded his head towards her as he watched her get onto her feet. "Your welcome, but you may just call me Fringe." He did not like such a formal calling and would prefer just to be called Fringe. But if she continued to call him by the nickname he received he would not scold her for it. The small female danced around Fringe before coming to a stop and nuzzling Fringe's warm coat. He heard her giggle and felt her cold nose hit his skin. He did not mind it though since he was growing fond of her cute personality. It was funny how one minute a pup could be so frightened and the next she was treating you like her adoptive father. But seeing as she was on her own she was probably looking for someone to care for her and help her until she was old enough to care for herself. He pondered over where her previous caregivers were and what happened to her parents before she had found him. But seeing as what he had seen so far she was alone without anyone to care for her. Looking into her two eyes Fringe could not help but wish she was his own. He would love to have pups one day and after seeing how cute this one was he hoped that day would be sooner rather than later.
Lyrics of the young puppy rang into Fringe's auds as she commented on he being very warm. He looked down at her with a smile listening to her giggle as she sat back in front of him once more. "I suppose I am, and you are very cute yourself little lady." Her two eyes sparkled with revived life and he could tell he was helping mend her shattered spirits. He was glad to know she had started to trust him more and more as time progressed. After all she needed to trust others in order to heal. Her banner swished back and forth across the dusty tile sending piles of dirt to disperse across the ground. It had been a long time since these rooms had been used and the grimy tiles were only one sign of this. Everything was cluttered and scattered here and there with no organization whatsoever. Suddenly without warning the joy in the female's eyes faded and she was overcome with sadness. Fringe cocked his dial to the side wondering what caused this sudden change in her mood. She asked him a question and her tone could have easily broken the heart of anyone who had heard it. Her head remained low with only her eyes staying level with Fringe. Her sadness soon transferred to he as he felt the pain she was going through. "If you don't want me to, I will never leave you." He looked at her with compassion and nuzzled her soft scruff. She was so sweet and full of life and it was just a shame she had been left all on her own. With her sweet personality and those two adorable eyes, who would ever resist such a cute creature?
Perhaps the female had not heard his lyrics for her eyes continued to show great sadness. She had been through a lot in her few short weeks of life, even more than many who had lived much longer than she. And being so young she could only handle so much. Every canine had their history and Fringe was no exception. He would love to have a wonderful story to tell others and impress them with what he had been through. But this female out shinned him when it came to a past and his sympathy for her only grew as time went on. She was so hurt and confused and just needed someone to show her the way of life. She looked up at him with tears building in her eyes. He felt his own eyes start to swell up and soon he closed his eyelids and lowered his muzzle to bring the female closer. He licked away the salty tears streaming down her face and pressed her face against his chest. "Danu I will always be here for you whenever and for however long you need me. I am not going to go anywhere." His tone was soft and gentle, even more so than ever before. He licked her soft skull like how a father would care for his own daughter. And though he had no relation to this female it was almost as if she had become his adoptive child. He placed his cranium under her muzzle and lifted her chin so she was looking him into the eyes. He then pulled away with a smile on his lips. "You don't have to be by yourself any longer." And he only spoke the truth. He did not know what he was going to get himself into when coming into the school, but at this moment he was so thankful he had come.

His words of promise made her feel much better. As when he lowered his snout to nuzzle her rubbed her tiny head under his neck. Forever?!, she whispered in a tiny excited tone. Her little tail wagged insanely as she wiggled away from him to look up at him with bright eyes. You could tell that never before she had anyone stay longer then a few hours with her. When you being a pup...your mother being the one that you personally thought will be there forever. But what happens when you never had a mother...or in fact you did but she didn't really want you? A deep sigh emerged from Danu, but not of dissapointment...only joy and content. I mean, take a look at this!!! She smiled happily racing around, well not really...just limping but it was a playful body languor that told you she was very happy. She ran a few times until she accidentally hit one of the old desks sending a few heavy books tumbling to the ground. A loud yelp of fear was presented as she darted back to Fringe and hid behind him. Danu pinned her little ears to her head and peeked to glare at the books, letting out a little bark at them.
She flickered her ears back up as those books didn't move. Another bark came from her as she inched closure to them tucking her tail close to her body she stalked over to it slowly and cautiously. As if any moment they will spring up and attack her. Once she got there she leaned over to sniff them before jerking back and glaring at it again. She turned her back away from them and barked at them over her shoulder, trotting back to Fringe. She sat on the far side of them...being on the other side of Fringe she looked at them again and sneezed with annoyance. Can you believe those guys? she whispered to Fringe. Yes, Danu was cute...and well it wasn't really hard to come to conclude that. The simple "guys" she was talking about...where only books that had no life nor breathing source. But, Danu was very young...and had yet to learn that things like that...where only pointless and could never cause harm. She flickered her tail again and looked up at Fringe then back at the books, growling a tiny silent growl.
They keep looking at me! she hissed under her breath as she smashed her tiny bodice against Fringes side to hide herself. Which was very difficult. Do to the fact that her coat was the color of the deepest ebony, and the tone of the beautiful honey kissed spots. Against his white fur? Danu just looked like a very...VERY misplaced patch on his fur. She flickered her ears again and looked over at the books again. Little Danu is just a tad silly. It was in the silence when her tummy grumbled making a long moan that begged for good. She listened and then looked up at Fringe. I'm hungry, dad. She woofed to him in a little tone. Yes she had called him dad. IT felt right....and besides....he was that to her now. He was her hero...her savior. She blinked gently totally forgetting about the books and looking up at him. There was no question on how Fringe will react to this new calling...or if there was to be a reaction at all! Danu did it simply by heart...but who ever was watching these two? Would love to see what the act would be. There was nothing better then a truthful heart....nothing better then a smiling happy face.

It was almost as if a weight had been lifted off the tiny female's body. Fringe's kind words seemed to sink right in and cause her fears to melt away. Her tiny nose rubbed against his neck and was soon lost in his long cloak. She whispered a single word so quietly it was almost impossible for anyone to hear. Fringe only smiled at her as he pulled away to see her tail swish from side to side and her eyes fill with hope. How could anyone take back what they had just said after seeing her become so happy? "But of course. Who could ever leave the side of such a wonderful pup?" He loved to see the new kind of life grow within her as she started to limp around him with joy. Her leg was not completely healed of course but now that it was clean it would not become infected which was the main thing to prevent. He did not try to stop her as her circles started to grow longer and farther away from him. She was having fun for the first time in what must have been at least days, maybe even weeks. When watching her he could not help but wonder why she was all alone. Where were her parents? Or who was the one who had been taking care of her for so long? She must have been alone by herself for some time for her ribs were sticking out of her chest and the blood leaking from her leg came from an injury which looked somewhat old. If she was alone in the world he would be more than happy to adopt her as his own and raise her until she was able to support herself. One pup was a lot easier to care for than an entire litter after all, especially since he was by himself. He always knew he wanted to be a father and perhaps today would be that day when he began.
During her happy dance Danu accidentally hit the teacher's desk near the other side of the room. The momentum she had gathered during her frolic cause a few of the teacher's books to tumble to the ground as well as a few loose leaf papers and some pens and pencils. Fringe only looked up at the noise while Danu seemed to be more intimidated by it. Instantly she darted back to where Fringe was standing and hid behind his body using him as a shield. Her ears pricked upwards and she started to bark at the cause of the noise. Fringe smiled at her behavior since she was unaware that these books could not harm her. They were inanimate objects which could not move unless another caused them to do so. But being so young Danu did not know this and continued to bark at them thinking they would suddenly disappear or leave her alone. She peeked out from behind Fringe though watched as the books had yet to leave. She made it to the side of Fringe and slowly inched her way closer almost as if she was afraid they would suddenly come to life and gang up on her. Being so small and walking with a limp it took her sometime before she had reached the books and slowly lowered her muzzle to inhale its scent. Then seconds after taking in its smell she jolted back as if the book had tried to bite her petite nose off of her face. Her orbs shifted to slits as she glared at the lifeless books before turning and making her way back to Fringe barking the entire way. It was just too cute to see her try to scare off the lifeless books when it was something she could never achieve. But Fringe just did not have the heart to tell her that they were not alive.
Once back to Fringe she lowered her hackles to the ground and sneezed once more. She whispered to Fringe quietly and her lyrics could not help but make him chuckle. She was just too adorable. He nodded his head with approval that the books were indeed being ridiculous to her. "I completely agree, they are being rather rude to us now aren't they?" Her tail swished back and forth and she looked up at him once again with only a pair of eyes a puppy could give. Then she turned her attention back to the books which still remained dormant. Growls were emitted from her throat though she took no further action against them. Then she spoke that they kept looking at her and Fringe could tell she was becoming annoyed with their presence. Once again he laughed before rising to his feet and pacing over to where the scattered books lay. Slowly he lowered his mug and took the binding of the books in his jaws grasping it only tight enough so it would not slip from his mouth. He spied an open window and paced over to it leaping off the tiled ground and landing on the counter directly under the sill. Then he lifted his cranium upwards and allowed the book to slip down the glass and out of the window. He repeated this process with all the other books leaping onto the counter and allowing them to drop out the window to the outside world, until the room was cleared of the evil creatures which were harming little Danu. With a smile he trotted back to her and lowered his rear to the ground into a seated position. "Is this better?" He asked her, his smile never once leaving his lips.
During the silence the sound of Danu's stomach grumbling could be heard. She was a tiny little thing which needed food in order to grow up properly. She looked up to Fringe with those two big eyes which he could just not resist. She called him dad and to the two of them it felt so normal. Like it was the only name which fitted him. He lowered his muzzle and nuzzed her soft cheek. "Alright hun let me fetch you something." His optics scanned the room looking for some source of food. It had not been used in a long time and was not like the wild where he could hunt down a rabbit for her to eat. So instead he went over to the closet where backpacks were once kept hoping to find an abandoned lunch box. And fortunately for him there was one left in the corner. He smiled and trotted over to it sticking his nose inside. His jaws parted to grasp onto a brown bag which was heavy, meaning there was some kind of food inside. He allowed a single eye to peer inside and smiled to see there was food within it. He pulled it out slowly before trotting back to Danu, nails clicking with each step he took. Then he was before her and lowered his cranium to the ground and releasing his grasp on the bag. "Here you are my princess, a feast for you to eat and you only." He grasped the bottom of the bag and allowed what was inside to fall to the ground. Inside was half a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, an open tapioca pudding cup, a bitten apple and a tropical juice pouch. Just enough for a starving pup to feast on. Fringe lowered his hackles to the ground once more with a smile across his face. "Enjoy."
