The air was alive with the vibrant smells of a new season, the fall bringing on new color to Nashua. It seemed that a new canvas had spread across the city, allowing it to be repainted in vibrant yellows and reds almost overnight. The air was dry and had a bit of a bite to it, but it was nothing compared to the cold temperatures this brute had experienced in his life. Fleshy pads, now cracked with use though not yet painful to the step, loped across an empty street, most of the dog-concentrated city behind him. Alec knew he was approaching the edge of the city, but he wasn’t going to get lost. Though he had been here nearly his whole life, Alec had yet to visit this part of town. Dogs said that there was plenty of shelter there, if not necessarily an abundance in food. But a small thing like that didn’t bother Alec. It would have to be a good three weeks for Alec to know what a death of starvation would feel like. Alec appraised the asphalt as he rose to meet his long stride, sharp eyes down yet all senses up. Alec’s muscles were tense as usual, always feeling ready to spring. Alec was long past feeling the burn in his legs from all the moving. The stray had gotten used to the long traveling within the first months of his homelessness. Alec’s head remained focused on the road ahead of him, until the grass that bordered the road earned a new freshness. Dark eyes looked up and assessed the situation; he had carried himself to the wild lawn of what looked like a large spread of buildings. Alec could only imagine that this place was once manicured to look presentable. It was probable that this was a place where humans gathered frequently. Well, frequently when they once had a run in the town. But Alec was proud to say that Nashua had gone to the dogs. Alec changed course so as to hop lightly up the curb, feeling his fur rustle at the new change in motion. He made a beeline toward the cluster of buildings, which lay a few hundred meters away, once past a few large fields. The ground changed ahead- the green and brown of the grass interrupted by a round track of a new, unfamiliar substance. Alec loped toward it, stopping when the textured track was only a hair’s breadth from his large white paws. He lowered his multihued jowls down to it, sniffing lightly. The smell reminded him of the round, black masses of bulk that littered the junkyards that were scattered around Nashua. Alec cast a glance around him, before stepping on to the new terrain. Alec found that this ground surprised him; it depressed down under his weight, not stiff as he had expected it to be. It was springy, like the tundra that he was so accustomed to from his old home. Alec let his mouth part, his long pink tongue lolling out as he let a doggy grin spread over his muzzle as he paraded around on the new track. He experimented with it a bit, testing his balance. Once convinced that this large circle was nothing to fear, Alec launched himself forward. He raced around the track, feeling his claws rip into the material in his effort to push himself up to speed. Alec raced around the circle a few times, before the weight of his fur started to catch up to him. Alec slowed his pace, only coming to a stop when he was facing the cluster of buildings once more. He was panting, feeling the saliva in his mouth starting to foam from the burst of adrenaline. Alec allowed himself to rest for a few seconds, before continuing once more. He reached the nearest building quickly, and began trotting around the edge, searching for a way in. Alec found an old air duct with the grate lying, bent and broken, a few feet away. The area smelt mildly of strays, but it was no surprise that Alec wasn’t the first here. He crouched down, reaching his long legs forward as he crept into the hole in the wall. The makeshift tunnel was longer than he expected, and was pitch dark. Alec plowed forward nonetheless, satisfied to see that the system wasn’t too complicated- he had no way of becoming too lost in this strange metal track. A musty light appeared ahead, and Alec was soon stepping out into the light of a large room, finished with a tall ceiling and a tile floor. The clicking of his nails dulled as they met the floor instead of the flimsy metal, and Alec realized that the building was relatively empty, save for maybe a few rats or another stray somewhere in the large building plan. Multiple tables, long and metal, were positioned around the large room. To his left along the wall was a long counter, taller than the tables, with a pane of glass separating the surface from the rest of the room. Large windows allowed sunlight to filter in, but Alec could tell that this room would be pitch black in the night. Alec moved on. Once Alec had exited the room through one of the large archways that was positioned along the walls, he was met with a big labyrinth of hallways. Alec widened his eyes at the sight of the long empty halls. This place was like a city of it’s own. Alec grinned once more. He would have lots of fun exploring this place.

Black claws clipped against the concrete as her beautiful collie bodice was carried over the fence....took some going up on...but she done it before...when she ran away from those two legs who wanted to pin her down to some little shelter. Her pink tongue rolled out of her proper elegant mouth as she thundered across the feild...her long fur dangling and waving beautifully in the wind as it blazed past her...almost plastering it down to her face and facial feature making her look like a bullet instead of the stunning female she really was. She wasn't really small...nor tall...but perfect. The prefect size to beat you down, but at the same to be the gentle duchess at the foot of your paws. Being a cross on two bloods instead of a solid one...but not mixed enough to be a mutt...but simply half-breed. Her rolling smooth muscles came once more to the other side of the fence as, she jumped over it just as smoothly as the first, heading toward the huge building....
Sprinting for fun? She was not. As there was an object in front of her...that she MUST get...and if she didn't get this object...she would simply die. Well thats how her mind went at this very moment. As the object was one and only a cat. & everyone already knows...that cats, must watch there back when Nova's around...which they did. Expect this bloody sucker right here. Right when the cat slipped through a air way vent...Nova stopped, her mind screaming to fallow...but some of her common sense stopping her. This only lasting a matter of seconds as she plunged right in...ignoring the fresh male dog scent that evaporated clearly from the entrance, or the dangers that could result from doing such thing. You could tell she didn't care...the only thing that mattered in this world was having that cat dead and it was EXACTLY what she was going to do. Kill it.
The rapid steps of her well placed paws was loud...almost echoing through the large building. Once out of the metal path, her pads once more made contact with solid ground. Where then she stopped to look around at where she stood...until she saw the damn cat sitting on a counter staring at her. Her ears pinned flat to her head as she glared at it coldly, in a second her paws flew from under her toward the desk a loud deep bark emerging from her chest as she leaped up to snap out at the creature. A hiss made as the smaller body jumped down, running toward the up coming large hall. & yes...as you guessed...there came Nova sprinting fully behind it. Once the cat turned the corner, Nova was already there, fangs grasping it right off the ground and slamming it down harshly.
She slipped but quickly gained her balance, holding the now dead cat in her jaws. Satisfaction ran through her bodice as she around at the place she stood...seeing that it was actually beautiful...that was until she saw the male....She dropped the cat down at her paws and stared at him for a while. Almost like wondering how he got there. Hello. She barked to the male, backing away a couple of inches before flickering her ears around wondering if there was anyone else here. Had she made a mistake by running into this place without checking? She looked around again before folding her hinds neatly under her, she looked back at him still wondering if he was here all along or just got here too. ...Is there anyone here with you? She asked him shyly looking around again. You could tell her trust was thin...with anyone as she once more looked back to him.

There were just so many places in the city to explore it was difficult to choose just one place to stay at a time. Autumn had entered the city and had kept its presence known for quite a while. The trees had their leaves change colors to multiple shades of orange, yellow, brown and red. Then once their color change was complete the dried up morsels would fall to the ground below only to be trampled, crushed, and forgotten. Fringe layed his deep chocolate orbs on the tree tops above feeling sympathy for the lifeless objects. But he spoke no apology to them nor showed his sympathy towards them. Instead he moved past them like every other creature did leaving them forgotten in the distance. This campus was huge for the hundreds of students who once used its grounds. Now only the strays knew of its existence since the human population was down to just a handful of people. It was a shame they could not live in harmony with the strays but for whatever reason most canines refused to share territory with the current dominant species. To Fringe he felt everyone should be equal though he rarely shared his opinions with others. Doing so might cause a clash of ideas and tension to occur. He shuddered at the thought as a gentle breeze bristled his long white cloak. Against the green grass he stood out like a sore thumb and though no one was around he could not help but feel like he was being watched. A glance around his surroundings told him he was indeed alone and a sigh emitted from his vocals. He did not fear the company of others, he just preferred to be alone.
A huge building was before him though what its purpose was was unknown to the Samoyed standing before it. He blinked his brown pools studying it and looking for an entrance seeing as the front doors were locked from the outside. He was more intelligent than what met the eye and he soon turned to an empty air vent which could barely be seen from behind a bush. Once in front of the vent it Fringe placed his paw on the cold bars allowing his claws to fall through the cracks. Then pulling it back the rusted hinges gave out and his entrance into the building was now before him. He smiled placing a paw inside of the vent. The metal felt cold underneath his pads and was something he was not expecting. But he was used to cold temperatures even if the vents no longer worked. He made his way through the tunnel slowly keeping his footsteps as quiet as possible almost as if he was thinking classes were still going on below him. He rounded a corner and looked for which room would be the best to enter. He hoped that the old vents would not give out on him while he was crawling through them, but the sound of its moans were not helping his confidence. Soon he came across a room which seemed to be safe to enter and pushed up with his cranium to lift the flap upwards. It creaked slightly and made a loud clank when hitting the tiled floor but got the job done. Sticking his head out of the vent and peering around the room Fringe knew he was alone. Even better. The last thing he needed right now was for someone else to interrupt his moment of tranquility.
Two snowy paws were lifted from the vent and placed onto the hard tile floor. Using his hind legs to propel himself upwards Fringe was finally out of the vents and on solid ground which he knew would not give out of him. His eyes blinked adjusting to the new bright lighting. He was in an old lecture room with many folding chairs set out before him and a podium which appeared to still have papers situated on it. The Samoyed made his way to the front of the room and sniffed the wooden stand. It had not been used in a long time but it appeared as if it had not aged at all since. While having this moment of peace a sudden noise caused Fringe's attention to drift elsewhere. Nails clicking against the tiled ground echoed off the walls and then the sound of hissing. Fringe cocked his dial to the side wondering what all the commotion was about. He started to trot towards the door and into a main hallway. Here he could see a female with a cat in her jaws and another male admiring the lengthy halls. The female saw the Greater Swiss but had her back turned to Fringe. He watched her drop the cat and speak to him, peering around to check if they were alone. He wanted to hide back in his room but thought he saw the Greater Swiss' eye catch his silhouette. So much for staying alone. He left he room completely and allowed his figure to be illuminated by the dim lighting above. "I'm here, but I'm not with the other fellow..." His voice was almost inaudible and the distance between them may have caused her not to notice him. They did not seem too threatening, but then again he could always bolt away at the smell of trouble. __ Puppet: Fringe __ Word count: 896 __ Muse: Bundles __ Notes: Sorry for the delay but here it is =][/color]
